Inspection was undertaken progressively throughout the coating programme rather than relying solely on an assessment of the completed system. The condition and preparation of the steelwork were assessed before coating application, with relevant inspection and testing undertaken at appropriate stages of the work. Environmental conditions and coating application were monitored alongside measurements and visual inspection of the applied system. Inspection records provided traceability throughout the works and evidence of the condition of the coating system before progression to subsequent stages. Where required, observations or non-conforming areas could therefore be identified and addressed before the work progressed.
